Getting Started

Hitman Card Game looks like a casino and plays like Exploding Kittens. You will sit, draw, and try not to pull the Hitman card. This beginner guide is the first-hour path: join, tutorial, codes, one bot table, one public Casual, then stop before Ranked until you can explain Angel placement.

If you already know the turn loop, skip to How to Play or Cards. Brand-new accounts should stay here.

Install and join

  1. Open Roblox and search Hitman Card Game by Hitman Studio (place ID 92352895821733).
  2. Wait for the lobby. The game is still labeled Beta in the official description even though it launched on 29 September 2024 and has tens of millions of visits.
  3. Optional tutorial: complete it for the Hitman Academy badge (see badges). It is the only safe place to misplay Inferno.

Private servers are free if you want a friends-only first table. Public Casual is fine too; mute anyone pasting loaders (see scripts).

First menu clicks

  • Play → Casual rooms list, Ranked Find Match, and Teams.
  • Shop → cosmetics plus Secret Codes. Redeem STARTERPACK, TODAYSPICKS, and 365DAYS from the codes hub before you buy anything.
  • Inventory / cosmetics — equip a sleeve so you can see shuffle art clearly. Visuals do not change odds.

Do not buy Deck Customization (499 Robux) on day one. Default decks teach you the real card mix; custom 99-Skip piles teach you nothing about Hitman density.

Your first room

Open Rooms if you want the full settings list. For a first session:

  • Gamemode: Original (Casual).
  • Max players: 5 (default) or 2 if you only have one friend.
  • Bots: On if the list is empty. Bot wins pay no Chips, but they will Attack you.
  • Starting cards: 5.
  • Turn duration: 15 or 20 seconds while learning, 10 when you are ready for Ranked pace.
  • Starter Angels: On. You want to see the save once before you play “Angels in the deck only” house rules.

Ready up. The table loads with named seats, a shared deck, and a death-chance readout that climbs as the deck shrinks.

The only rules you need for round one

On your turn you either play a card or draw the top card. Some plays (Skip, Reverse, Angel) end the turn without a draw. Some (Bottom) draw from a different place. Drawing Hitman without Angel eliminates you. Angel lets you put Hitman back at top, second, third, bottom, or random.

Quick Play cards (lightning icon) can fire on other people’s turns: Cancel, Inferno, Chain, Shuffle, and later Pirate. You do not have to wait.

Last player alive takes the Chip pot. Placement still pays something on the way down, and Daily Challenges pay even if you never take first.

After you die (you will)

Note whether you:

  • Drew Hitman with no Angel (play tighter, keep Skip).
  • Got Attack-stacked (hold Cancel).
  • Donated Angel to Steal (throw junk instead).
  • Inferno’d the wrong name (read cards).

Then play a second bot round focusing on one fix. Only then join a public Casual. Ranked can wait until you survive a known-top Hitman with Skip or Bottom instead of panic-drawing.

What to open next

  • How to Play — precise turn structure.
  • Tier list — keep order.
  • Tips — counting and bluffs.
  • Shop — only after codes and a few Daily Challenges.

You are not late. The ladder (Book Worm through Hitman) is documented on ranks. First-hour players should care about Angel, Cancel, and not clicking Ranked out of curiosity.
